			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Awareness Through Movement Workshop will be given by Paul Voudouris at Priya Pilates on Wednesday, August 11th, from 9 AM to 3 PM, at a cost of $240. The workshop is for people of all ages, no matter what their physical condition, and who are    interested in rediscovering the power of thought, movement, and functional organization. One of the goals of this learning method is to recreate connections between the mind and the body in such a way as to increase awareness and provide more creative options for thought and action.<br />
<span id="more-66"></span></p>
<p>The A.T.M. (Awareness Through Movement®) lessons utilize the widely acclaimed movement education system of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais and draw on recent scientific breakthroughs in biomechanics, neurophysiology and stress-reduction.  The “lessons” or exercises developed by Dr. Feldenkrais are revolutionary because they communicate directly with your brain, the control center of your body.  It is your brain and nervous system-not your muscles-which determine the health of your posture, the ease and comfort of your movement, and the extent of your flexibility.</p>
<p>The process by which all physical learning takes place, from walking and talking, to playing an instrument or driving a car, is called sensory motor learning.  Sensory motor learning is the natural way your body learns and improves. Step by step, your brain finds the most efficient and comfortable way to organize your body’s movement, co-ordination, posture and balance.</p>
<p>A.T.M. lessons are designed to access the motor centers of your brain and provide the information your body needs for optimum improvement.  With these remarkable exercises your nervous system will automatically form new neuromuscular pathways, creating improved body usage, health, and vitality</p>
<p>Paul Voudouris, a modern day renaissance man with myriad interests, is a certified Feldenkrais Method® practitioner and  Bones For Life® Teacher. He holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do, and earned his B.A. in Literature, with master studies focused on Latin American literature.  He has taught literature, mathematics, and physical education in high schools and adult schools in Greece, the U.S.A., and Mexico. Paul’s thirst for knowledge, experience as an actor and performer, and unique sense of humor, are added to his passion for the Feldenkrais Method® and make for great classes.   </p>

Each class has a different objective in order for your body to reach its maximum potential. There will also be 2 Saturday classes (dates to be announced).</p>
<p>$210 for the four-week cycle to be paid in advance.  A minimum of six people need to be signed up for this class to be held.</p>
